PRESS RELEASE
Keal Technology and Applied Systems Jointly Announce Integration for
Canadian Brokers
Keal Technology's sigXP and comXP to integrate with Applied Systems' WARP
TORONTO, Ontario, Canada - October 17, 2007- Today at the Insurance Brokers
Association of Ontario Convention (IBAO), Keal Technology and Applied Systems jointly
announce an integration partnership. The partnership will see Keal's broker management system
(BMS), sigXP, and commercial management system (CMS), comXP, integrate with Applied
Systems' real-time solution, WARP. This is the second integration between these two
companies, coming on the heels of Keal's comXP integration with Applied Systems' The
Agency Manager (TAM).
Canadian brokers are under significant pressure with rising costs and increased
competition from direct writers and Bank Assurance. Vendors have a responsibility to offer ways
to help brokers increase their margins to stay competitive. Redundant workflows involving
duplicate data entry is a significant area of wasted time in a brokerage. Although single-entry,
multiple-company interface (SEMCI) continues to evolve, it is currently giving brokers
measurable, positive results, making customer service representatives more efficient.
“I am pleased to announce that Keal will be integrating its flagship BMS, sigXP, with
Applied’s SEMCI solution, WARP, as early as the first quarter of 2008,” said Pat Durepos, Keal
president. “In making this decision, we considered the growing support WARP has gathered in
the insurer community and the robustness of the WARP infrastructure. We are excited to be
expanding our partnership with Applied.”
Brokers using Keal’s sigXP for personal lines or comXP for commercial business will be
able to integrate with WARP to facilitate real-time broker-to-insurer transactions. Without using
a SEMCI tool, brokers are forced to enter client and policy information into their BMS or CMS
and then again into the insurer’s portal. Using WARP streamlines the process and provides
brokers with real-time data quickly and seamlessly.
“sigXP’s modern architecture coupled with its API (Application Program Interface) make
it possible to offer our clients the choice of whatever SEMCI solution they want to use. Keal will
continue supporting its existing SEMCI offerings as well as CSIO Electronic Data Interface
transmission with insurers,” explained Durepos.
“We are very excited that Keal has selected WARP as an interface technology for sigXP
and comXP, providing real-time interface between brokers and insurance carriers,” said Doug
Johnston, Applied Systems vice president of Partner Relations & Product Innovations. “WARP
will provide Keal customers with real-time inquiry functionality and real-time policy rating
functionality. We look forward to working with Keal on further establishing and extending the
benefits of WARP functionality throughout the Canadian marketplace.”
