PRESS RELEASE
Keal Technology and Applied Systems Announce Joint Integration
Keal Technology's comXP to integrate with Applied Systems' TAM
TORONTO, Ontario, Canada - October 17, 2007- Today at the Insurance Brokers
Association of Ontario Convention (IBAO), Applied Systems and Keal Technology jointly
announce an integration partnership. The partnership will see Keal's commercial management
system (CMS), comXP, integrate with Applied Systems broker management system (BMS), The
Agency Manager (TAM®), using the Applied ConneXion® tool kit. This is the first integration
between these two companies.
Brokers are looking for integrated technology solutions that will streamline operations
affording them time to grow their business. As a result, the popularity of commercial-specific
management systems is steadily gaining momentum. XML standards from the Centre for Study
in Insurance Operations (CSIO), enhance brokers' ability to integrate with insurers. comXP's
SQL architecture lends itself to efficient compliance with XML files transmission to upload and
download data. To complete the integration and fully utilize capabilities, a CMS must integrate
with the BMS to achieve maximum benefit.
"I am very pleased to announce that Applied Systems has agreed to integrate Keal's
comXP with the TAM application. This will provide Applied's commercial clients with
integrated access to comXP and in turn give us an opportunity to bring comXP to a wider
audience," said Pat Durepos, Keal president. "As a result of this partnership, brokers throughout
Canada will benefit from more efficient workflows that will improve time management, reduce
expenses, and increase margins overall."
"We're pleased to provide our ConneXion toolkit to Keal for the integration of its comXP
product with The Agency Manager," said Doug Johnston, Applied Systems vice president of
Partner Relations & Product Innovations. "The use of ConneXion will provide a cleaner
- 2 -
integration with TAM for our mutual broker customers, resulting in automatic activities and a
direct link between customer files in comXP."
The project is scheduled to commence in November 2007 with anticipated delivery in
early 2008. "We are committed to devoting the development resources required to make this
partnership successful," said Bill Redford, director of development at Keal. "Existing Keal
clients will still see their enhancement requests fulfilled and will likely gain extra benefits as a
result of the additional resources devoted to the comXP/TAM integration project."
